Crafting Better Communities

The Maryland Green Designer Show Home was a concept brought to fruition by Michael Baldwin and his staff at Baldwin Homes, Inc. This project, started in April 2012 showcases not only the eco-excellence that Baldwin Homes creates, but also their partnerships with unique landscape and interior designers throughout the Washington, D.C, metropolitan area.

Through a series of strategic partnerships, the Maryland Green Designers Show Home will support two local charities’, including: Hospice of the Chesapeake and the Make a Wish Foundation. Upon completion of construction in September 2012, tours and various events will be hosted within the home all to benefit these two wonderful causes. Additionally, the home will be listed for sale, with the split earning from the sale directly benefiting these two causes as well.

As Green living starts to become more main stream and as the average homeowner spends a significant amount of money monthly on energy bills, it has become increasingly important for Baldwin Homes to design and build homes that have Green characteristics. Baldwin Homes has taken the steps to not only build green, but to build affordable green homes. For years Baldwin Homes has built our homes using maintenance free and energy efficient products. To take that one step further and build green was an easy step. By concentrating on Energy efficiency, Indoor Air Quality and our Environment, we have developed Energy Star homes that do just that. These homes are built green to save green; saving energy costs annually as well as keeping our clients comfortable and helping to protect the environment.

Our Green features include; panelized construction, light color roof shingles, energy efficient heating and cooling system, water saving plumbing fixtures, upgraded siding and exterior trim, plus much more which will help homeowners save both money and the environment.

Baldwin Homes First Eco-Model was built in 2008 in Severna Park, Maryland in Anne Arundel County, and demonstrated many of the green features that can be built in any of our homes.

To show and demonstrate Green Building now, Baldwin homes has built a Second Eco-Model in Gambrills, Marylandin Anne Arundel County. Our newest Eco-Model is a learning/demonstration model with 5 different green certifications and over 69 green features, where everyone can interact with the products and understand how a Green Home is built and maintained.

By utilizing the latest eco-friendly, sustainable, environmentally responsible products Baldwin Homes has a model home that will showcase the affordability and advantages of a Green Home and Green Building.
